“IT’S NOW THE BEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE!”

They took up my Signature Service which included Virtual and E-Design. This enabled them to see the final curated products within their 3D virtual designs and gave them the confidence to pull together the look themselves, which I must say, was executed to absolute perfection! Can you tell me why you wanted to update your room, what problems you wanted to overcome and whether you already had some ideas to improve its use or aesthetics?
The room was the last in the house to be renovated and was in desperate need of an update. We wanted to remove the log burner and add a modern luxurious feel to the room. We loved the idea of a media wall and wanted somewhere we could use as a lounge and also a ‘movie’ room.
What inspired you to hire an Interior Designer, what services did you need and why did you choose LABODE?
We both have different tastes in interior design and it can cause friction when trying to find a compromise. We also recognise from experience we don’t always get it right and end up re-doing things within 12 months. The idea of an interior designer with a fresh pair of eyes and who does it professionally appealed to not only to get the colour scheme right but to dress the room with the finishing touches we never got round to. LABODE were recommended to us and after an initial meeting we knew we could work with you and you’d understand our needs.
When starting your project, did your Designer give you a good understanding of the process and what to expect?
Yes, you were very clear on the steps in the process, how you built up a picture of us and our needs, how this would translate into ideas then crystallise on a chosen scheme which would then be developed into a final design. It was well organised and structured and you could see how it was building into the end product.
Did you have enough opportunity to feed back and ask questions throughout the project?
Yes we felt we could ask anything at any time! Be open and honest about what we liked and didn’t as well as ask questions about small details to make sure we got the finish we wanted.
Were you provided with suggestions or ideas you wanted to keep?
We loved everything we were shown and only needed a few tweaks along the way. We fully trusted your judgement and we’re delighted with the end result.
Were your ideas listened to?
Yes we wanted clean and modern but warm and homely and that’s exactly what we got!
Which part of the project gave you the most excitement during the design?
The finishing touches! They made the room come alive.
Now your Design is complete – has it improved the way you use the space? How does it make you feel?
It’s now the best room in the house! We love the space and no longer have to keep the door closed! It adds value and has completed our home. The only problem is it makes us want to do the other rooms to the same standard!
On reflection, do you think the experience gave you value in terms of cost and time?
100% I was sceptical at first but the saving in both time, effort and energy was brilliant. It probably saved us money in the long run not doing things twice and the ability to buy things direct from the links you shared saved us valuable family time in not trawling round endless shops.
Would you recommend or use LABODE again?
Absolutely. Can’t wait for the next project!
